BLESSING BOSTON WITH PRAYER
Churches Together in Boston (CTIB) are launching a prayer initiative to bless Boston . They are inviting as many people as possible to pray for their neighbourhood, or their workplace or somewhere they have a heart for. They would love you to do it by prayer walking those areas, but if you are not able then please meet together in twos or threes and pray wherever you are able. Here is a chance to work in partnership and pray with someone who lives near you but attends another church. All you need to do is to pair up and sign up so they know which area of the town you are praying for. Please see one of the stewards.
You may find this prayer helpful when praying for your street:
Father God, I ask you to bless our town of Boston , and all who work for its good (e.g. in schools, hospitals, Borough Council, police, churches, soup van, Street Pastors, and the RoadHoG bus).
I also ask you to bless my street (name it) and all who live, work or play in it – men, women, boys and girls and young people. May it be a good place to live, where people are coming to know you, where we live as you want us to live, and where we can think of each other’s needs and help wherever we can. And Father, may I be a blessing to all I meet however they may treat me.
For Jesus’ sake. Amen.

A Christian pastor, Artur Suleimanov, has been killed in the Russian republic of Dagestan , in what is being seen as a bid to intimidate converts from Islam.
Please pray:
That God will comfort and uphold Pastor Suleimanov’s family,
and their large church family, in their distress and grief.
That the murderer and all those behind this horrendous incident will be brought to justice
and that they will come to faith in Jesus.
For protection over those attending Pastor Suleimanov’s funeral
as well as the wider Church in Dagestan.
That Christians will not be intimidated by this act of violence.

PRAYERS
Dear Lord,
Give me enough tears to keep me human,
Enough humour to keep me wise,
Enough setbacks to keep me humble,
Enough accomplishments to keep me confident,
Enough patience to teach me waiting,
Enough hope to teach me trusting,
Enough friends to give me love,
Enough memories to give me comfort.
Amen

DEAR GOD
I want to thank you for what you have already done in my life.
I am not going to wait until things in my life look better –
I am not going to wait until people say they are sorry –
I am not going to wait until the pain in my body disappears –
I am not going to wait until my financial situation improves –
I am not going to wait until I get the job –
I am not going to wait until the job gets easier –
I am not going to wait until I understand every experience
in my life that has caused me pain or grief;
I am thanking you right now.
I am thanking you because I am alive.
I am thanking you because I made it through the day.
I am thanking you because I have walked around the obstacles.
I am thanking you because I have the ability and the opportunity to do more and do better.
Most of all, I’m thanking you, God…
because you haven’t given up on me.

A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE
Lord, guide me in the decisions I make today, large and small.
Help me to weigh the effects they will have on others;
Grant me courage in those which are difficult.
Give me time to think before I act.
In all that I say or think or do this day,
Inspire me with your love and lead me into your truth.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
